LIVING AS A LIGHT IN THE WORLD!
from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix
Scripture: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV) Message: As followers of Christ, we are called to be a light in a dark world. Jesus reminds us that we are not meant to hide our faith but to shine brightly, reflecting His love, truth, and righteousness in everything we do. A lamp’s purpose is to illuminate, and in the same way, our lives should radiate God’s presence. Our actions, words, and attitudes should point others to Christ, inspiring them to seek Him. Whether in our workplaces, families, or communities, we have daily opportunities to shine through acts of kindness, integrity, and love. However, shining as a light requires us to stay connected to our source—Jesus. Just as a lamp needs oil or a bulb needs power, we need the Holy Spirit to empower us. When we spend time in prayer and God’s Word, our light grows stronger, and we become beacons of hope in a world that desperately needs God’s presence. Today, ask yourself: Is my life reflecting the light of Christ? Are there areas where I have hidden my faith instead of boldly shining for Him? How can I be a greater witness of God’s love and truth to those around me? Prayer: Almighty Father, thank You for calling me to be a light in this world. Help me to live in a way that reflects Your love and truth. Remove any fear or hesitation that keeps me from shining for You. Fill me with Your Spirit so that my words and actions will draw others closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
