Living as Salt and Light

Message Us!The creation story, found in the first two chapters of Genesis, tells us that human beings were created in the image of God. We were to rule the earth under God's kingship. However, we decided that we wanted to be our own rulers and, consequently, the first human beings rebelled against the Kingdom of God. This massive mistake put a chasm between us and God, and it greatly marred our image and our ability to carry out God's purpose for us on the earth. BUT, God is so good! Through Christ, we have become new creations. We, once again, get to bear God's image in the world and live in a new way... a better way. God has transferred us into the Kingdom of King Jesus and we are supposed to live in a way that honors that Kingdom. One of our mandates (and privileges) is to live as the salt of the earth and the light of the world. When we do so, others are pointed to Jesus, with a hope that they will too, by faith, enter His kingdom.
