Born in Kerala, India and raised in Houston, Texas, Anizzy follows an unconventional path to R&B fame and is eager to share his message with the world. Anizzy began producing music at 18 years of age. As an Indian man, he was facing pressures from his family related to his career aspirations. The stereotypes enforced by many Indian households causes career aspirations in music to be seen as “unacceptable”. This led him to lose sight of himself as he faced many struggles mentally. Then one day, he reminisced on his time as a tabla student for his guru, Dexter Raghunanan. Dexter was a world-renowned part-Indian tablist who inspired Anizzy with his talent and outlook on life. This helped Anizzy bounce back from his struggle and realize what his life is - music. Dexter’s influence helped Anizzy shape the message of his music: India has a place in music and elements of Bollywood can bring a beautiful vibrance to the art of music. The response from critics was stunning with Atlantic Records A&R Andrew Grant believing Anizzy discovered “a new opening” in R&B sound. His notable songs “Anizzy Life” and “Stargazing” garnered over 40,000 streams and earned positive feedback. His cultural touch and unconventional sound is one that is unheard of.
