The Christian faith is not merely accepting a set of ideas or doctrines. The Christian faith comes about in us because God does something in us, to us, and with us. When God enters our lives, our lives change. The way we approach life and the way we respond to the world changes. We begin to become like Jesus in that. Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience become defining characteristics of our lives. And because of that, people are able to see Jesus by looking at us. In Colossians 3:12, Paul challenges us to strive to develop habits of life that reflect the presence of Jesus in us.
