Living up to Your Highest Potential with Superheroes and Ancient Wisdom
from Geek Psychology: Play Life Better
Send me a textSuperheroes and ancient wisdom are connected by the Greek philosophy of arete. The word comes from the verb “to work at” or “to exercise.” Arete was used to describe a person who had developed their talents through training and discipline. In other words, they had transformed themselves into someone who could accomplish things they never thought possible.Superheroes embody this type of transformation. They are ordinary people who, through a series of trials and tribulations, learn to harness their inner strength and become something more than human. This is what we see in superhero stories—the hero who struggles with self-discovery and eventually overcomes his/her own limitations through perseverance and courage. But what about real life? How can we use superheroes as inspiration in our own lives? The answer lies in the ancient wisdom of arete. By practicing arete ourselves, we can emulate our favorite superheroes by transforming ourselves into better versions of ourselves!Original video: https://youtu.be/uphlehsI81Y****Connect and Support Geek Psychology #geekpsychology ****FREE 8 Hero Personality Assessment: https://geekpsychology.com/ Support the Show.
