How many bathrooms do you have in your house or your apartment or your mobile home or your van? It's just it's just kind of want to know Welcome welcome to this edition of the Daily Grateful. I'm Michael Gross, and I want to know how many bathrooms you have in your house I have two I like having two I think I've had two just about all the time No, I take that back when I bought a house in Turpin Springs. It had one bathroom It was a very big bathroom and one bathroom now that just always made me very paranoid thankfully It was literally five minutes from my office where there was another bathroom if something gone had gone wrong, and I did once So the neighbors came over to visit.
We'd never met the neighbors. It was a young man and his young girlfriend. They were in their 20s We were in our Late 20s early 30s by late 20s. I think anyway They came over and he was really drunk and he walked into my bathroom and he passed out and he hit the toilet and destroyed the toilet Oh So his girlfriend escorted him out.
I shut the water off and Realize that there was nothing I could do until the next day So we did not have a bathroom, but we had the office which was five minutes away, and we just went to the office to do that sort of things So we then bought a house with two bathrooms. That was the next thing we did And I I don't know the why did this even come up? Why why am I talking about this on a daily grateful because I am looking at my Facebook page right now and 1970s memories by do you remember that whoever they are said big blue thing did anyone grow up in a house with one bathroom? Can I tell you the truth when I lived in Michigan the house?
No, I take that back when we lived at 528 West Michigan Avenue When we moved into the house it had one bathroom it was upstairs and my dad had another bathroom put in downstairs So we had two bathrooms there then we moved to Mill Lake Which was out in the middle of nowhere between Battle Creek and Banfield with a five bedroom house one bath one bath in a subject Yeah, that's pretty rough and then we moved to Florida where we immediately went into two bathroom situation consistently after that And I've you know pretty much held it that way most of the time how many bathrooms do you have in your house? And why is that important? Well, you know, when you got to go you got to go And I like the fact that I can go any time I need to and that's very very good. No, I have a wonderful ex-wife I love her dearly Exoise number two Diane the one that I own the house in Tarpon with and the one that we eventually bought a house with two bathrooms She's got two bathrooms at her house.
She lives less than a mile away from here, and I have two bathrooms here but she goes camping and She has a van that is a converted camper and it has a bathroom in it And I you know, she says you need to go camping with me She's been wanting me to go camping with her forever And I just haven't done it and the reason I haven't done it is because of her bathroom her bathroom that's in the camper It's it's you're going into a pile of sawdust you have to deal with it, you know, and you're supposed to get any it's It's I'm not doing that, you know, and her oldest son was laughing at me We were having breakfast one morning And with him and his wife him and his wife Diane and I were having a breakfast and I was telling you know I said I am really big about toilets, you know, and they're campers and they have a camper, but they're toilet, you know They well, you know, we have toilet you can flush. Yeah, but then you got to deal with it later He goes, what do you mean? I said it's flushes and stays somewhere in your camper and then you got to get it out of there He goes, yeah, he says we got to take it up and stick this thing and it drains it all out I said, uh, nope, not me. I have you have these two rooms in my house and I can go to the bathroom and you don't want them and when I'm done here's the best part when I am done There's a little lever on the side I just pushed a little lever and I never have to think about what was in the toilet ever again because it's gone It leaves my house goes through a pipe through my front yard onto a sewer out by the street and it's gone I never have to think about it again.
I don't have to hook up a hose I don't have to take a thing of sawdust and stuff out and deal with that. I just Okay, I'm weird about that. So I'm thankful that I have nice toilets and I'm by the way I had to replace the toilet I replaced both the toilets in this house but I had to replace my toilet in my bathroom because I'd replace it once before and a family member did the Installation and it was never right and there was a crack at the bottom of the toilet So I had a handyman guy by the name of Dan Dan Dan the handyman great guy. Yeah, I loved it I love Dan.
I said Dan. I'm gonna buy a new toilet. I want you to put it in because there's no problem this gross and You know he I have the toilet. He goes in he takes the other toilet out Halls it out to the street and then he's putting the new toilet in and I swear to God.
I swear to God He broke the toilet the brand new toilet. He broke the toilet Installing it. I don't know how I wasn't in there, but he broke it. He ruined it.
He goes Mr. Cross it's it's after eight o'clock and closes close I'll get one for you first thing in the morning and I'll be here I said I tell you what I will go get it in the morning and you be here by say 10 o'clock He goes, okay, very good. So I went and bought another toilet I didn't charge him for it and he put it in and then I went to pay him for putting the toilet in he goes I can't charge you I can't you guys yes, you can and I made him charge me and I made him do it I just had a feel yeah I just wanted a toilet I had to go use the other see I had the options I have another toilet down at the end of the hall that the other side of the house that I could use while this toilet I could not use Why am I doing a podcast about this ungratitude and I'm talking about toilets Somebody help me out here. It's a weird Monday.
It is a freaking weird ass Monday. So I can tell you I just did a gratitude Podcast about toilets and aren't we all grateful for them? Don't we all want good working toilets? Yeah, I want them There's something else I want I see these twins on tiktok there men and their forties They're twins and their plumbers and they got this nifty little thing you take outside and you put it in your sewer line and rats can't come back up I want any more of those that's for the toilet, too.
All right. We'll see you tomorrow
