Livingston and Haven

What does it take to keep a manufacturing plant running when a single failed valve, drive or power unit can stop an entire line? In this episode, we take a close look at Livingston & Haven, the Charlotte, North Carolina company that has answered that question since 1947. As an authorized distributor for Bosch Rexroth, Parker, Balluff, Hydac, Graco and more than a dozen other industrial brands, Livingston & Haven stocks the hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and motion control components that maintenance teams depend on every day, with tens of thousands of part numbers available through its online store. But this is more than a parts story. We explore the Engineered Systems side of the business, where Charlotte-based engineers design and build UL 508A control panels, custom hydraulic power units, conveyor systems and aluminum extrusion assemblies to customer specifications. We also cover the company's factory-authorized repair programs for Bosch Rexroth and Indramat drives and Haskel pumps, and the Institute of Applied Technology, where twelve hands-on courses teach industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity and schematic reading to the next generation of plant technicians.Whether you manage maintenance, run operations or design machines, this conversation explains how a 75-plus-year-old, ISO-certified distributor stays essential in modern American manufacturing.
