Liya Palagashvili joins this week’s She Thinks episode to help us assess the harms and threats to independent contracting through a new Department of Labor rule. Her primary research interests include entrepreneurship, regulation, and the gig economy. She has published academic articles, book chapters, policy papers, and articles in media outlets such as the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. In 2016, she was named one of Forbes' "30 under 30" in Law & Policy. Palagashvili was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the State University of New York-Purchase and earned her Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University.--She Thinks is a podcast for women (and men) who are sick of the spin in today’s news cycle and are seeking the truth.
