After my mother passed away, I felt compelled to write. What I thought would be a personal chronicle in order to process my mother’s death and my own grief quickly turned into more. Not only was I channeling my grief and experience into words, but I knew without a doubt in the moments, hours, and days that followed, my mother was communicating with me. A door had been opened for her to communicate and let me know she was still with me. We had been having a shared death experience from the beginning. And after she was no longer in physical form, it was evident she was very much still a part of my life. To send me messages, and let me know she was still around me. She was still here in spirit.
