"We are fighting climate change and building a community of environmental stewardship." That according to Liz Wilson, the President & CEO of Fort Whyte Alive is what drives her and her teams vision when asked about the importance of International Day of BioDiversity on May 22. Liz started out as an entrepreneur who successfully ran a 4th generation family business before moving into the non-profit conservation area for 14 years. Her management experience in both the private and not-for-profit sectors, her leadership roles in programming, fundraising and volunteer support are skills Liz brings to Winnipeg's urban nature oasis. We talk about the importance of education when it comes to climate change and how Fort Whyte Alive has programs to engage ages from 4 to 94 on the importance of looking after our planet. From biodiversity to bees, to beavers to barrels of rain there is a lot to talk about when it comes to environmental stewardship.
