Lizzie: Pushing the limits of ARVC/Heart Disease

from Trail Running Women · host Hilary Spires

I first interviewed Lizzie in 2020 when we was diagnosed with rare heart condition called AVRC. It's genetic condition that effects the muscle in your heart and makes it turn into scar tissue the harder you work the muscle. In short, it means running can kill you. We chat again about how she's learned to live with it and how far she can push.  Lizzie found running in her mid 20's and quickly fell in love. It became a huge part of her life as she began winning races and spending her weekends adventuring. She even met her now husband when they shared the podium together at a 50km.   Find all things from the podcast here! @trailrunningwomenpod  The Episode Archive: Patreon

Guests will include both former and current believers in a variety of conspiracy theories, as well as debunkers, skeptics, and the investigators of those theories. I’m Mick West, a debunker. I wrote the book Escaping the Rabbit Hole – How to Debunk Conspiracy Theories using Facts, Logic, and Respect. This book came from my experiences running Metabunk – a debunking forum. Over the years I realized simply presenting corrections to people is not enough. We need effective communication, and we can’t do that if we don’t listen to and talk with each other. I’m hoping this podcast will help bridge that gap. Explicit Nerd on the Street Kaori Akari and Jason Rayn Welcome to our block!
