Llevame Donde Naci, Llanito Survey, Kusuma Excellence Prize, Christmas Horror Film

National Day is round the corner, and what better time to cast a thought back to the Gibraltar of yesteryear. Our News Editor Christine Vasquez told us about a GBC News feature ‘Llevame Donde Naci”.We’ve previously spoken to the University of Cambridge Team of Linguists about their research of Llanito and Gibraltar English. They have a long-standing interest in Llanito, and now they’re asking you for your help with a survey about your language history, use, proficiency, and attitudes. We spoke to Professor Brechtje Post, Professor Joanna Sitaridou, and Research Assistant Amber Holt.A-Level students recently received their results and those who performed exceptionally well - and as a result have obtained a place at a leading university - are eligible to apply for the Kusuma Trust Excellence Prize. The application process is now open and Michelle Tosso was in the studio to tell us how it works. A locally produced Christmas horror film is being pitched to distributors. It's called Vases and its tag line; ‘when loved ones are vanishing from their graves, a determined Police Officer must summon every resource to unravel the chilling mystery’.
