Lobos Lock In Big Wichita Series | Wichita State Shockers Basketball News

Lobos basketball fans are bummed they won’t host NCAA Tournament games this year — Wichita State got the nod for its central location — but there’s silver lining: a new home-and-home series with Wichita State, starting Nov 21 in Kansas and returning to Albuquerque in 2027-28. Coach Olen hopes the road win counts as a Quad 1 game, which could boost postseason chances — if Wichita State finishes ranked top 75 in NET (they were 70 last year, Lobos were 46). The Lobos have nine nonconference games plus two exhibitions, including home matchups vs. Utah Tech and Northern Arizona, road games at Santa Clara, Utah State, New Mexico State, Saint Mary’s, and TBD games vs. Boise State and Oregon State. Plus, they’re hosting a free public practice July 21 at the Pit (6 PM) — just tell the attendant you’re there for basketball to snag free parking (even though Isotopes are playing that night). And shout-out to former Lobos: Josiah Allick played in NBA Summer League, Timeo Pons lit up France’s U-20 team with 23 points and 6 threes. Coach Olen’s second kids camp is coming up later this month. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
