Local Auctioneer attributes price increases to supply and demand
A Sligo based auctioneer says that demand us continuing to outstrip demand when it comes to the housing market in the local region. As a result house prices are continuing to increase in the North West. The REA Average House Price Index shows increases from 2.5 to 13.9 per cent for second-hand three-bed semidetached homes. The report states the price of such a property in Sligo increased to €262,500 in 2025, up 7.1% from €245,000 at the end of 2024.In Sligo town, average prices rose 6.9% this year to €310,000, while prices in Tubbercurry rose 7.5% to €215,000. In parts of Leitrim prices increased by a staggering 13.9% in parts of the County mainly in Carrick-on-Shannon In Donegal prices increased by 2.5 %Roger McCarrick, from REA McCarrick & Sons in Sligo has been telling Ocean FM news that demand is currently out stripping supply.
