Local Business Spotlight: Anne Arundel County Watershed Stewards Academy

Anne Arundel County may be surrounded by water, but protecting it begins in yards, neighborhoods, and communities across the county. In this week's Local Business Spotlight, Suzanne Etgen, co-founder and founding executive director of the Anne Arundel County Watershed Stewards Academy, explains how the nonprofit trains residents to become community leaders who can identify environmental problems and help turn practical solutions into action. The conversation covers the academy's certification program, stormwater management, native plants, tree protection, mosquito control and the small everyday choices that can collectively improve local waterways.
