We premiere a special mix from Belfast heroes Hotline as they provide the 217th Local Selection Mix made up entirely of their own productions. The mix spans house, techno, trance and more, weaving through gritty warehouse cuts alongside sun-kissed festival weapons. Hotline first drew ravers’ attention with their residency at Shine; it was here that they cut their teeth in Belfast’s dance music scene. Since then, the duo has played at a variety of venues across the country, releasing a plethora of self-released singles that have garnered them cult status and praise from some of the most intriguing names in dance music. The genre-bending DJs are committed to having fun both behind the booth and within the studio, the pair refuse to commit to genre limitations or put themselves in a box. Their time as residents with Shine has seen them support all manner of DJs and play in a variety of scenarios, whether it’s a heaving basement or warmup slot at The Telegraph, Hotline are committed to letting their intuition lead their selection, which has fed through to their productions. The mix sees the Belfast duo run through a selection of hard-edged techno weapons as they sprinkle glistening synth lines and cheeky edits across a pummeling backdrop of high-octane peak-time techno.
