This week's entry to the Four Four Local Selection Mix Series welcomes Dublin-based DJ and promoter Spek. Having started his musical journey a mere year ago the talented up-and-comer has done an impressive job at turning promoters heads across the city by means of winning various mix competitions for collectives in the city. Showcasing his funky style that is dedicated to sounds of the past in the process. Next up on the Four Four Local Selection Mix Series is Spek. The talented newcomer has already made a firm mark with numerous shows in the short span that he's been spinning at clubs in the city. Playing for parties like Slither, Somewhere Else and his own party Mystery Events in venues such as Cellar, Wigwam and Farrier & Draper in the process, where he showcased his in-depth mixing quality. His sound draws clear inspiration from the golden era of techno Spek does a fantastic job of fusing the old with the new in this mix as he features artists such as Dylan Fogarty, Cult, Jon10, DJ Swisherman, Funk Assault and more in this eloquent recording. Showcasing killer technique and a consistent flow over the duration of the hour which really helps to keep the listener engaged. Spek has also found himself as co-creator of the newly formed party Mystery Events where they threw their debut gig in Wigwam on Culture Night. It featured a solid selection of local artists such as LE4H, Sean Molloy, Daniel Warren, Spek and Cult for his first headline show which was a roaring success. The gig featured a surprise appearance from Dylan Fogarty for the last hour with him and Cult closing the evening out in style. No doubt that there will be more parties where that came from!
