This week’s Local Selection Mix comes from Limerick-based Magoo as the youngster supplies a steamrolling entry to our mix series. Magoo has proven himself to be one of the most promising artists to hit the Limerick techno scene in recent years through his residency with Touch Of Techno as well as making regular appearances on the Irish circuit where he has shared the stage with a host of Irish and international talent. A student of the golden age of techno, Magoo is infatuated with the art of fusing deep and callus soundscapes with club-focussed power. His DJ sets are a combination of unwavering groove, layered with atmospheric textures and pulsating basslines. This unique fusion is made to push dance floors to their limits. Magoo is also busy working on thrilling self-releases that draw inspiration from the timeless allure of old-school sounds blended seamlessly with deep, entrancing hypnotic elements.
