Local Selection 255: MANNIO

Our latest entry to the Four Four Local Selection welcomes Aran Mannion (MANNIO) to the series. The 22-year-old DJ and producer from Galway has provided us with an hour long recording for the 255th edition, tipping his hat to his Irish roots as well as traversing through elements of techno and trance throughout. Coming from a singer-songwriter background initially, MANNIO is well versed in the realm of live music and instruments as he has experience in playing the guitar and piano, which has stood to him in discovering his distinct style in an electronic sense. Allowing him to switch between genres and view DJing through a lens that has less focus on barriers with certain sounds. MANNIO has also co-founded the Galway-based club night Tús (Irish for beginning) Collective just over a year ago alongside the parties other co-founder Dylan Buckley. During this time they have ran a host of parties across Galway in Cellar, DNA, Cuba and Electric. They've joined forces with Dublin-based party Instinct on multiple occasions strengthening the link between Dublin and Galway dance music collectives while also welcoming acts like DATSKO and Tara Casey to their parties. Not to mention numerous other local artists in the process. With his first release planned to release in early 2025, it will be interesting to see where MANNIO's musical journey takes him.
