LOCAL: Youth football season begins Sept. 12

The Pipestone Area Youth Football will open the Little 10 League season on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Murray County Central. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m.  PAYF will field fifth- and sixth-grade teams only this year based on numbers. Thirty-five players have signed up, officials report.  Fourth-grade players will practice and gain experience in this form.  The home opener is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 versus Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at Paulsen Field.  Other games are scheduled versus Canby, Marshall Orange, Lakeview (Cottonwood) and Marshall Black.
