from Locked On Pistons - Daily Podcast On The Detroit Pistons · host Locked On Podcast Network
The Detroit Pistons fell to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday evening at FedExForum in Memphis. Despite a strong showing by Marcus Sasser, who led the Pistons with 22 points and five assists, Detroit was unable to overcome Memphis's formidable performance led by Marcus Smart's 25 points, including an impressive 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. The Pistons started strong in the first quarter, leading 35-34, but struggled in the second period, managing only 18 points compared to the Grizzlies' 37, giving Memphis a substantial halftime lead that Detroit couldn't recover from. Jaden Ivey contributed 17 points for the Pistons, who maintained equal rebounds with the Grizzlies at 42 each. However, the Grizzlies' superior shooting, with 54.8% from the field, ultimately secured their 131-111 victory. The loss leaves the Pistons with an 8-12 record as they continue their season.Subscribe to Locked On Sports Detroit for our LIVE postgame shows all season long: https://youtube.com/@LockedOnSportsDetroit?si=8zCLJ-2MrwkQyYeX Subscribe to Locked On Sports Detroit!
