Locksley’s Work Ethic Under Fire | Maryland Terrapins Football News

Michael Locksley’s bold 2008 promise to “add another digit” to New Mexico’s scoreboard now feels ironic in light of his record there—but this is Maryland, not New Mexico. Entering his eighth season, Locksley’s message is simple: “Work more and talk a little less.” After two straight four-win seasons, the Terps can’t afford hype. His past declarations—like claiming Big Ten contention three years ago—have come with mixed results. With NIL and the transfer portal reshaping college football, Maryland’s financial disadvantages have been hard to ignore. While AD promises have fallen short, Locksley’s focus has shifted from excuses to action. This season, it’s clear: the field will need to speak louder than any preseason noise.
