London Marathon 2019 Special - Part 1

from Runner's World Podcast · host Runner's World UK

Recorded at the Expo as the London Marathon excitement builds, We have a packed part 1 of a 2 part special for you! We spoke to Harry Vowles who is running in the iconic Save The Rhino costume and Oscar White (aka TentMan) who is aiming to break the Guinness world record for running in a tent. Next we have a truly inspirational chat with Paula Shrimpton, whose story of hope and over coming serious mental and physical health issues will no doubt resonate with many taking on the marathon. Leon Cerrone and Lloyd Kempson joined us who have been preparing for the race as part of New Balance's Everybody's Race campaign (Leon currently features on the cover of the May issue of the magazine too). Kieran Alger, Scott Cain and Sim Benson join us to talk about the future of marathon running, sustainability and the impact of running on the environment we live in. And our very own Jane Mcguire reflects on the last 16 weeks of training as she prepares for the race on Sunday.  We're recording part 2 today, coming out tomorrow.  Hosted on Acast.
