Long-Distance Caregivers: Emotional & Mental Burn Out With Denise Ruth

from CaregiverDave.com · host Dave Nassaney

Join Dave, The Caregiver's Caregiver, as he interviews Denise Ruth. Denise spent five years as Power of Attorney for her mother over a long distance – cross-country – caregiver relationship. Her mother was in a facility for Dementia. We will be discussing the challenges and responsibility of being power of attorney (POA) in a long distance situation. Burnout is not only limited to physical burnout. Mental and emotioanl burnout is every bit as debilitating, if not more than the physical symptoms. Denise is fine today, after 5 years of having the responsibility of caring for her mom with dementia, and is currently rebuilding her life after emotional and mental burnout. Yes, there is hope for a bright future. Don't give up. This too will pass.
