Long-term unemployed Wellingtonians ‘deflated’

from Checkpoint

"I don't know where to go, I don't know what to do, to afford living and pay the bills." That's the message from those who are still unemployed in Wellington after going through a round of government job cuts in the public sector two years ago. Last week, the government announced that nearly 9000 public servants are in line to lose their jobs over the next three years. It follows experts saying with more people facing long-term unemployment, there comes the risk of higher rates of anxiety and depression. Bella Craig reports.
