Longing for Emmanuel | Christian Christmas Series
from Momma Theologians | Christian Motherhood Ministry · host Momma Theologians
Momma, it is so tempting to propel ourselves into Christmas cheer, into holiday mode, focusing our efforts on making magical experiences for our children, a chance to weave faith and family into the memories they will carry into this world someday. But, friend, for a few moments in this season, can I encourage you to consider the dark? To consider the “weary world” and not just the “rejoicing”? In many ways, I feel the need for a Merry Christmas more desperately now than ever after a challenging two years. It is very much my predisposition to revel in the light, the festivities, to cherish the gift of the Christ-child’s birth and ignore the nagging sense of desperation that clings to me, simply as a result of living in this world...
