Paul reminds the Thessalonians that God chose them, saved them through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, and called them through the Gospel. Because Scripture is inerrant and Christ is Lord, believers must not be shaken by fear, false teaching, or lawlessness. Our confidence is not in ourselves, politics, or circumstances, but in the Savior who loved us before the foundation of the world. As darkness rises, God’s people must stand firm, pray for one another, intercede for the Gospel to advance, and look up to the Father who will never let them go.
