Looking Backwards and Forward - 258

from Soul Forge Podcast · host Shawn Vanderloo

Everything you want is on the other side of fear. There are a few things I have learned after podcasting about myself for the last 5 years. When you take a good hard look at your life, you should see areas where you can improve; areas where you are doing great, and areas in between. This is the 5 year podcast anniversary episode. Join me as I take a look back, and think about the future. The first half of this special episode is looking backwards at what has come before. The early history of the show is filled with rambling and doubt. Eventually I found a voice and a way forward. At first I spoke about myself. Then I covered random topics like happiness, decision making and fatherhood. Then I got into more personal territory such as love and loss. After a time I realized I did not have the life experience to cover every topic. I began to interview people with different backgrounds. Learning about other people's experiences allowed me to develop a better understanding and to teach my podcast listeners about other ways of living. Throughout the podcast's run certain themes began to emerge. Mental health is a huge topic that is often covered in various ways. Other topics include love and confidence. But the main theme has been fear and the desire for home. Send comments to [email protected] Donate at www.ko-fi.com/rustedsoul This week's podcast promo: Modern Musicology
