Jim says this smells like Trump simply rewarding a political ally. Finally, they tackle the California uproar over closing Interstate 5 during the U.S. Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary celebration at Camp Pendleton. Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered the shutdown due to live ordnance, but the Marines insisted it wasn’t necessary. California Highway Patrol officers report a small piece of shrapnel damaged one of their vehicles when an explosive went off prematurely.
