Here we find that Jesus, the Son of God, rose from supper, laid aside His garments, and girded himself with a towel. His service was based on who He was in the Father. This is God who becomes man,  humbles Himself and  becomes a servant. Jesus says, "I came not to be served, but to serve and to give my life as a ransom."  Jesus tells us that this is the way He wants us to live. But Jesus was able to serve from His identity as the beloved Son. He has won that for each of us. We are called to serve like Jesus, to wash oneanother's feet, but that giving of ourselves comes from knowing who we are in Christ.Come and be moved by His desire for you!
