Lord Moylan: The Upcoming Online Safety Bill is ’Totally Offensive to Democratic Principles’

NTD's Lee Hall sits down with Conservative peer Daniel Moylan who is concerned about the upcoming Online Safety Bill set to be signed into law this year. The bill transfers powers from the government to a regulator who can require WhatsApp, iMessage and Signal to to scan people's public and private messages. Whatsapp and Signal have already said they may leave Britain rather than create a backdoor in their end-to-end encryption. The bill also threatens Wikipedia and in particular Welsh Wikipedia, the world's biggest Welsh language website.
