En Alaska una investigación publicada en la revista Science Advances reveló que la relación entre humanos y perros podría ser más de 10.000 años atrás, lo que coloca esta conexión en una época cercana al final de la última Edad de Hielo. Este hallazgo se produjo tras una excavación en Swan Point, a 110 kilómetros al sureste de Fairbanks, Alaska, donde se encontró un hueso de la pierna de un canino. Su análisis mediante datación por radiocarbono arrojó una antigüedad de unos 12.000 años.
