Alan Hardwick is a retired Detective Sergeant who served in Idaho and Washington from 1991 to 2021. In early 2001, Alan founded the Boise Police Department's Criminal Intelligence Unit and co-founded the FBI Everett Resident Agency Joint Terrorism Task Force in 2002, investigating international and domestic terrorism cases. He has instructed hundreds of officers and analysts in Washington state on counter-terrorism techniques for law enforcement agencies as well as police leadership courses at the state academy. As a published author, Alan was the featured guest speaker at the 2022 Writers Police Academy in Appleton, Wisconsin, assisting best-selling authors with their writing. He currently lives in Edmonds, Washington where he owns a private investigation agency and a consulting firm while playing saxophone in two Seattle rock bands.
