Loud Ads Become Illegal & Pete Buttigieg Targeted by Swatting Call
from Philip Teresi · host KMJ
Starting July 1, streaming services serving Californians can no longer run commercials louder than the content they're attached to. The law extends protections long available on traditional TV to streaming platforms and could eventually influence ad-volume standards across the United States. Pete Buttigieg says an anonymous false CPS report caused authorities to investigate his family and temporarily separate him from his children. Michigan authorities ultimately determined the allegations were false, and Buttigieg is calling for accountability for whoever made the report.
