Louisiana Education Leaders Highlight Progress and Teacher Support at Teacher Leaders Summit

Louisiana education leaders say momentum matters. Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education President Simone Champagne joined Talk 107.3 at the Teacher Leaders Summit to discuss education progress across the state. She called BESE the policy-making arm of education and praised State Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley’s leadership after challenges from COVID-19 and major hurricanes. Champagne said teachers remain the driving force behind student success and pointed to classroom engagement, teacher support, and Louisiana’s “Let Teachers Teach” effort as key improvements. She also stressed workforce readiness, internships, and career preparation as important parts of education growth while emphasizing Louisiana must keep building on recent gains.
