Louisiana Teacher Leaders Summit Draws Record Crowd as Education Gains Continue

Louisiana’s Teacher Leaders Summit hit a record 7,400+ attendees this year as educators from across the state gathered to prepare for the next school year. Deputy Superintendent Dr. Jenna Chaisson said the summit focuses on helping teachers grow while improving literacy, math, workforce readiness, and college and career preparation. Louisiana also combined its Fast Forward workforce development conference into the event for the first time. State leaders highlighted Louisiana’s academic gains, including ranking No. 1 nationally in reading growth and No. 2 in math growth. Officials credited strong policy implementation, educator support, and classroom-focused training. The Department of Education says continued investment in teachers and early childhood education remains key to building student success statewide.
