Louisville's Mikel Brown Jr. Goes Sixth Overall

Sixth overall in the 2026 NBA draft, Mikel Brown Jr. — Louisville’s highest-drafted player since 1990 — is poised to make his pro debut after a meteoric college rise cut tragically short by injury. Before missing the rest of his season with a back ailment, Brown scorched the hardwood with elite scoring and playmaking, once dropping 45 points and 10 threes — tying school records — while averaging over 18 points and nearly 5 assists. A top-10 pick after a dazzling freshman campaign, his selection signals Louisville’s resurgence as a development machine — even if his NBA journey begins with a storybook ending that was too soon.
