Louth County Council Urged to Carry Out More Frequent Rent Reviews - 22/10/2025

from The Agenda

It's been suggested more frequent rent reviews could be the solution to reducing the amount of rent arrears owed to Louth County Council. The local authority is owed more than €4 million and over 1,000 of its tenants owe 12 weeks rent or more.At the Dundalk Municipal District's monthly meeting, Sinn Féin's Kevin Meenan also called for extra staff to be allocated to carry out the reviews to ensure tenants aren't caught out over a change in their circumstances which can put them in arrears.Councillor Meenan joined us on The Agenda this morning to talk to us some more about this.
