Love is Your First Work (Part 2)

Today, Bishop Rodgers, continues the topic from last Sunday from Revelations 2:4-5. God is love and truth and His love is incarnated in Jesus Christ. The proper response to our belief that God is love is our concrete actions of our love for one another. Love, agape, is only real if it is directed out. When our love grows cold it is because we have replaced God's love with idols. Idols are created to serve humanity's self-centered love and vain ambitions. If we take love out of church, we have religion. This means we do a lot of telling people what to do, rather than showing them. Love is practical, observable, expressing itself in our actions and attitudes toward others. As you listen to this message, may the Holy Spirit show you any area which you are lacking in the love department. May the Lord continue to bless and keep you and your family safe and in love.
