Love Like Jesus // Part 4 // Do Good to One Another

The most popular passage from the bible spoken at weddings actually has very little to do with marriage, and that is 1 Corinthians 13:4, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast…” Of course, all these attributes of love will thrive in a marriage when they are in the hearts of husbands and wives, but the Apostle Paul taught us this passage to plant them deeply in the hearts of the redeemed. This is what a church can be! Yet he began with a warning: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1. Cornerstone, it is time to love, urgently! It is getting spiritually darker everywhere, even in the ‘Church’. Division, lawlessness, hatred, bigotry, authoritarianism…and do not be mistaken, it is all aimed at the people of God! Now, more than ever before in our lifetimes, we must speak truth and love, both inside the walls of our church and outside! We are going to need each other for the journey ahead, so join us in our summer series as we look at the ‘one anothers’ from the bible, each of which will help us ‘Love like Jesus’.
