Love, Not Taking Vengeance, and Doing What is Right: Batman: Mask of The Phantasm- Kingdom Geeks Podcast In this episode of the Kingdom Geeks Podcast, join Jared and Nate as they uncover the themes in Batman: Mask of The Phantasm that are actually found in Christianity! Join Jared and Nate as they discuss these 3 themes covered in this episode: Love- Bruce’s love for Andrea causes him to give up the idea of being Batman. [Jhn 15:13 NLT] 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. Not taking vengeance. Andrea’s vengeance drives her to murder the mobsters and drives her to become The Phantasm. [Rom 12:19 ESV] 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." Doing what is right. Batman chooses to do the right thing, even though vengeance could have consumed him like with Andrea, but instead he does the right thing and instead of becoming a symbol of vengeance, one who does what is right. [Jas 4:17 ESV] 17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
