Love your enemies

from The Gospel Teachings of Richard Arlen Kern · host Jacob

God says we are to love all people as ourselves, even our enemies. Surprisingly enough, God says that some of our closest family members will be counted among our enemies. We are to develop a forgiving, kind and gentle nature. We are not to fight or argue with any individual, nor are we to say bad things about them to others; rather we are to act bravely and confront them one-on-one, in a pleasant tone of voice, and accuse them of any injustice we may think they have committed against us. If they continue to treat us as their enemy, we are to separate ourselves from them so as to avoid conflict. We are not to take revenge on any individual, no matter how badly they have wronged us; God says he will take vengeance for us. Obviously, if it is we who have wronged the other person we should be quick to apologize and ask them for their forgiveness. Remember, God rewards our behavior with like behavior.
