Would you ever be as hard on a friend as you are on yourself? I’m going to take a wild guess and say no. For some strange reason we feel the need to subject ourselves to these unattainable standards. They are unattainable for a reason, in the beauty industry they need to keep you to keep consuming, return customers are their business. They keep pushing the bar and we keep buying in. But these standards, not just beauty standards but LIFE standards. Like how many things can we be juggling all at once?! I need to be the perfect mom, while having an amazing career, perfect skin, and a skinny but curvy body?  Have your kid in every sport on top of going to school, look like an adult with their shit together, cook 3 homemade meals a day… shall I go on?! I do actually believe we can have some semblance of balance but it has nothing to do with having it all. It has all to do with how much you accept yourself. “I remember the day I decided to love myself at every stage of my life.” And to keep on doing so every day. This is me. This is you.
