Lovers We

Neither One of Us Was Seen is Dan Surman's most achingly honest record — 13 tracks living in the aftermath of love that burned out slowly rather than all at once. Jangle-pop catharsis, alt-grunge erosion, acoustic confessions and groove-revival self-reckonings trace the specific quiet devastation of relationships where neither person was truly witnessed. Not a breakup album — a reckoning album. The silence between these songs is as important as the songs themselves.
