Demeter’s Prayer to Hades "This alone is what I wish for you: knowledge. / To understand each desire has an edge, / to know we are responsible for the lives / we change. No faith comes without cost, / no one believes without dying. / Now for the first time I see clearly the trail you planted, / what ground opened to waste, / though you dreamed a wealth / of flowers. / There are no curses—only mirrors / held up to the souls of gods and mortals. / And so I give up this fate, too. Believe in yourself, / go ahead—see where it gets you." --- Rita Dove Jorge López Llorente 's Links Mentions: Alien Buddha Press Suburban Witchcraft David Lynch Joseph Heinrich Beuys The Archetypal Artist: Reimagining Creativity and the Call to Create Dan Brown Finnegan's Wake Lauren Markham Paul Auster Paris Review Caroline Polachek Good people doing good things ---> Random Acts' Lantern Fund, How to Help MN Master List , How to Perform an Act of Kindness Locally Food Not Bombs, INARA, MAP, Islamic Relief for Palestine, The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children's Fund Legacy of War Foundation UNHCR, *I own and profit off nothing in this bizarre hubristic venture. It is a vehicle for expression, education, and artistic play (probably a little bit of a humiliation kink too if we're being honest here lol). **Hey hey, btw, all those do gooders I link to? They have no idea who I am and have nothing to do with me (and I like it that way). I just think they're neat. ***My sounds and music comes from Epidemic Sound.
