LOVING OTHERS AS CHRIST LOVES US!

Scripture: John 13:34-35 (NIV) "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Devotional Message Jesus, on the night before His crucifixion, gave His disciples a new command: to love one another as He had loved them. This love was not just an emotion or mere words; it was a selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional love that He demonstrated through His life and ultimate sacrifice on the cross. Loving others as Christ loves us means: 1. Loving Unconditionally – Jesus did not love based on merit or worthiness. He loved even those who denied, doubted, and betrayed Him. Likewise, we are called to love not only those who are easy to love but also those who may be difficult. 2. Loving Sacrificially – True love requires selflessness. Jesus laid down His life for us, showing that love is not about what we gain but what we give. We can reflect this love by serving, forgiving, and being patient with others. 3. Loving as a Witness – Jesus said that our love for one another would be the defining mark of His disciples. The world recognizes Christ in us when we show kindness, compassion, and unity, even in challenging times. In a world where love is often conditional and self-centered, Jesus calls us to a higher standard—to love as He loved. Today, ask yourself: How can I reflect Christ’s love in my relationships? Can I forgive someone who has hurt me? Can I extend kindness to someone in need? Let us commit to living out His love so that others may see Jesus in us. Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect love. Teach me to love others as Jesus loves me—unconditionally, sacrificially, and with a heart that seeks to glorify You. Let my love be a testimony of Your grace, drawing others to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen. May you walk in His love today and always!
