Loving Thy Neighbor: Choosing Compassion Over Comfort
from Diary of a Healing Virtuous Woman · host Virtuously Joy
Bible Verse:“Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Mark 12:31Diary Entry:Sometimes loving people isn’t easy — especially when they hurt you. But love isn’t about who deserves it; it’s about obedience. I’ve had to learn that loving my neighbor means forgiving, serving, and showing grace even when I don’t feel like it.Every act of kindness, every moment of patience, becomes an offering to God. I don’t always get it right, but I’m learning to see others through the eyes of Christ.Words of Encouragement:Your love might be the only glimpse of Jesus someone sees today. You don’t have to agree with everyone to love them. Love isn’t passive; it’s powerful. When you extend it freely, you break cycles of bitterness and build bridges of healing. God blesses the ones who love past offense.Journal Prompt:Who is God calling me to love more intentionally this week? What can I do to serve others from a pure heart?Prayer:Lord, teach me to love my neighbor as myself. Heal the parts of me that resist compassion. Let my actions reflect Your heart. Amen.
