Lucas Erceg’s Fall From Royalty | Kansas City Royals News

Lucas Erceg’s meteoric rise with the Royals in 2024 turned into a steep decline by 2026—once a dominant closer with a sparkling ERA and clutch saves, he’s now struggling with a 6.23 ERA, a negative ERA above replacement, and just 12 saves in 18 chances. While his arm still has the stuff to induce ground balls and limit hard contact, his command and mental resilience under pressure have faltered. With a high BABIP suggesting some bad luck, the Royals face a tough choice: send him down to the minors for a reset or risk his continued slump in a critical bullpen role. His future hinges on rediscovering the confidence that once made him a cornerstone of their relief corps. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
