Lucy DeCoutere - Canadian Actress

Christina chats with Lucy DeCoutere about  trying, swearing, and using celebrity to foster good things.Lucy is the luckiest person on the planet. Born in 1970 in the Canadian prairies, her calling has always been communication and education. Whether teaching  English to Korean pre-schoolers or teaching fighter pilots how to be more adept with PowerPoint presentations, her passion for clarity in communication has punctuated each and every turn of her career. Lucy also learned the hard way that if you want to be an influencer, you need to garnish education with a bit of fun.  Speaking of fun, Lucy has swum with sharks at the bottom of the ocean,  yodelled in the Himalayas with mischievous Sherpas, and ridden her bike to hell and back, sharing these trips on social media to raise awareness about  violence against women and, ideally, inspiring folks to get outside. Lately,  she can be found back in the prairies and when she’s not knitting bespoke, super chunky hats, she serves as a training development specialist at a military aerospace school, facilitating conversations that redefine how the RCAF discusses culturally complex issues.
