It is in our sinful nature to compare ourselves to others, and to claim that the misfortune of others has come upon them as a form of punishment from God. In our text, Jesus dispels the myths about the Kingdom of God by explaining what the Kingdom is really like. We learn that God is longsuffering in his patience; He is not limited by man's legalism. His heart is for people, not for establishments, and his Kingdom truly works in the seemingly simple ways, but it spreads in such a way that it can only leave people wondering how something so foolish in their eyes could could so powerful.
